Meet Dr. Hollingsworth
Dr. Michael S. Hollingsworth was born in Hutchinson, KS. After graduating from Missouri Western, Dr. Hollingsworth worked for five years as a high school teacher. He decided to pursue dentistry, graduated from University of Missouri-KC, and performed his general practice residency at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Leavenworth, KS for two years. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Missouri Dental Association, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. In 2011, he received was awarded the honor of “Master” from the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Hollingsworth’s goal as a dentist is to provide his patients with high quality, affordable, comprehensive care that delivers what patients most want and need.
As a former teacher, Dr. Hollingsworth certainly values education. He doesn’t think twice about taking two to three times the amount of continuing health education that is required for dentists in Missouri, and he always encourages his staff to take continuing education classes as well. In fact, four of his five dental assistants have trained to become expanded function assistants, allowing them to perform dental procedures otherwise reserved for dentists, ensuring that all of our patients get the treatment they need.
Dr. Hollingsworth married his wife, Jodi, in 1986. Together, they have three children. As evidenced by the office decor, Dr. Hollingsworth loves everything baseball. He collects signed memorabilia, and some of the items that hang on the walls of the office are from his collection.
